This instrument records reflectance or transmittance spectra in the spectral range 200 ... 2500 nm. It is an accurate, but slow scanning instrument with a rotating grid. The acquisition of a spectrum takes a few minutes. In order to switch from reflectance measurements to transmittance measurements, one has to exchange the sample holder which takes a few minutes as well.
The acquired spectra can be saved in several formats: A simple text format with two columns for the wavelengths and the corresponding reflectance or transmittance value (default file extension *.xy), or the binary SpectraCalc fomat with the default extension *.spc. The spectral values are stored in %, i.e. the reflectance or transmittance values are between 0 and 100.
